This page has some of our favorite simple and vegan recipes that are delicious and can also be a way to reduce waste! 
Many of the ingredients listed for each recipe can be found package free, in a bulk grocery store, or with minimal packaging. Please note that we did not create all of these recipes, we have just been using them for so long that we aren't able to find the original recipe page.

WHITE BREAD

 Ingredients:
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 

 Directions: 

  1. Combine flour, yeast, salt in a large bowl. 
  2. Add maple syrup to warm water. Combine with dry ingredients. 
  3. Add olive oil
  4. Mix into a dough, adding more flour as needed. 
  5. Transfer to loaf pan. 
  6. Let bread rise for 20-30 minutes. 
  7. Preheat oven to 390*F. 
  8. Bake for 40 minutes.

Flour Tortillas

 Ingredients:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

 Directions: 

  1. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl
  2. Stir in oil
  3. Stir in salt until combined well (add more flour as needed)
  4. Transfer dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead the dough for up to 3 minutes
  5. Divide into desired pieces and roll out your tortillas to preferred size
  6. Turn your pan on high heat and transfer flattened dough. Cook until lightly brown or about 1-5 minutes on each side. 

Note: This recipe makes about 12 small sized tortillas and 4 large size.

Basil + Sunflower Seed Pesto

 Ingredients:
  • 2 cups packed basil
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3-4 tbsp nutritional yesat
  • 1/4 tsp salt 
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3-6 tbsp water

 Directions: 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender or food processor. 
  2. Enjoy!

Vegan Mayo

 Ingredients:
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 3 tbsp aquafaba (liquid from chickpeas)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup olive oil 
  • Salt + pepper to taste 

 Directions: 

  1. Combine ingredients in blender (except for vegetable oil). 
  2. Slowly pour in vegetable oil until smooth emulsion forms
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Tahini Dressing / All Purpose Sauce

 Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

 Directions: 

  1. Combine all ingredients and whisk. 
  2. Enjoy!

Coconut Curry Base (add desired veggies)

 Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • Half diced onion
  • Garlic to taste (optional)
  • Ginger to taste (optional)
  • 3 tbsp red curry paste
  • 1 tbsp agave/ maple syrup
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2/3 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce/ tamari 

 Directions: 

  1. Add coconut oil to a heated pot.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and ginger and cook until tender. 
  3. Combine all ingredients. 
  4. Add your choice of veggies/protein (mushrooms, kabocha, chickpeas, tofu, zucchini, carrot, etc) 
  5. Allow to simmer until veggies are soft for up to 30 minutes.

Waffle / Pancake Batter

 Ingredients:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cup plant milk

 Directions: 

  1. Whisk dry ingredients.
  2. Mix in wet ingredients. 
  3. Pour into pan for pancakes. Add to waffle maker for waffles. 

**Makes about 6 waffles large waffles. 

** Amount of pancakes depends on size.

Dog Treats

 Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cup oats or oat flour
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 large ripe banana

 Directions: 

  1. Blend oats until fine to make flour if using oats. 
  2. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  3. Combine ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Scoop into desired size onto a baking sheet. (Our Silicone Baking Mat is great for these!) 
  5. Bake for 15 mins.
  6. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp saly
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup plant milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

 Directions: 

  1. Combine sugar, brown sugar, salt, coconut oil in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in milk, vanilla. 
  3. Mix in flour, baking soda. 
  4. Add chocolate chips.
  5. Chill dough in refrigerator for 30 minutes. 
  6. Preheat oven to 350*F. 
  7. Scoop into desired size onto a baking sheet (Our Silicone Baking Mat is great for these!). 
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Pretzels

 Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 5 cups water
  • 2 tbsp baking soda

 Directions: 

  1. Combine yeast, warm water, sugar, salt. Stir until dissolved (about 3 mins)
  2. Gradually add flour. 
  3. Knead for 3-4 minutes
  4. Let dough rise for 1 hour 
  5. Preheat oven to 400*F 
  6. Bring water and baking soda to a boil 
  7. Shape pretzels 
  8. Dip each pretzel dough into the boiling water + baking soda for 30 seconds. 
  9. Place dipped pretzels on a baking sheet. Our Silicone Baking Mat is great for these! 
  10. Bake for 12 minutes.
